Ever since the initial release, the question around “will final fantasy 16 be on pc?” and when have been floating around the internet. Final Fantasy 16, the highly anticipated next installment in the popular RPG series, will not be coming to PC this year, according to producer Naoki Yoshida. The game is currently a timed exclusive for PlayStation 5, but many fans were hoping that it would be available on PC six months after its console launch.
However, Yoshida has dashed those hopes in a recent blog post on PlayStation’s Japanese website. He explained that while he would like to release a PC version of Final Fantasy 16, it simply wouldn’t be ready in just six months. He added that the development team is focusing on delivering the best possible experience on PS5 first.
“First of all, it is true that Final Fantasy 16 is a six-month limited time exclusive on the PS5 platform. However, it is a completely different story that the PC version will be released in half a year. I will make it clear, but the PC version will not come out in half a year.”
Yoshida’s statement echoes what he said in an interview with Famitsu last year, when he revealed that Final Fantasy 16 was initially planned as a cross-generation title for PS4 and PS5, but was later decided to be a PS5 exclusive to take advantage of its hardware capabilities.
Ever since the Preview Embargo is lifted, we’ve got lot of new info regarding this big release. Yoshida says we can expect more information about the game soon, it looks like we will be on a ride until the release date.
Final Fantasy XVI hits Playstation 5 on June 22nd. Final Fantasy 16 is set in a medieval fantasy world called Valisthea, where crystals grant power and protection to different nations. The game will feature a more action-oriented combat system than previous entries, and will follow the story of Clive Rosfield, a young knight who becomes the guardian of his brother Joshua, who possesses the power of the Phoenix.
