How to Fix Hollow Knight Low FPS and Input Delay

I purchased Hollow Knight during the last steam winter sale and finally can play this one of the best indiegame in 2017, but unfortunately it doesnt run well on my laptop and got annoying input lag.After a few hours of research, finally Hollow Knight is playable in my potato laptop.Here’s what I got

 

Update Your Graphic Driver

Yes, simple but important check your graphic driver and make sure you’re using the lastest driver
For AMD go to AMD Driver Support
For Nvidia go to NVIDIA Drivers Downloads
(If you experience some crashes in new AMD driver, download the 17.7.2 version its work really well)

Make Sure Hollow Knight Use Your Dedicated VGA

(If you have it)
For AMD user, go to your AMD Rodeon Settings then go to System>Switchable Graphic, search for hollow knight then make it High Performance (If you cant find it, try to run it first and then it will shown in recent applications list

For Nvidia just Right Click on Hollow Knight Icon>Run with graphic Processor>High Performance NVIDIA PROCESSOR

Lower Hollow Knight Settings

Most of you probably have done this, just incase some of you forget to do this
In the main menu go to Options>Video Settings

Run Hollow Knight in Direct 9 Mode

This result is depend on your sistem, most system will run better with default configuratin but there are system that run better when using DX9 Mode
To change to DX9 Mode simply just go to your steam library right click on Hollow Knight then go to properties

Click Set Launch Options then type “-force-d3d9” without quote

Then press Ok

 Use Public Beta Version

I have no idea when this update will roll officially but in this build its run better in my system.
To use this build just Hollow Knight Properties then go to Betas section

Press OK then Close
Then Steam will download its update for the new build, its about 100MB

After the download finished just hit play and see for yourself

(Optional)Turn off Hyper-V in Windows 10

I have no idea about this, but in my friend computer has some performance boost after disable this
Open Windows Power Shell by right clicking start menu and click Windows Power Shell Admin

To disable paste this

Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V-All

To enable paste this

 Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V –All

Then press enter and then type Y to restart your computer or press N to restart manually later
To restart your computer manually just like what you usually do.
You have to restart your computer to take the effect
